The sun is coming up earlier, the air is getting warmer and we can all feel summer is here. With the holidays upon us, we are all ready to relax and enjoy some sand in our toes, salty hair and warm sun kissed skin as we breathe in the fresh ocean breeze.
A few weeks ago I shared all my favourite swimwear finds for Luna and thought its time I find some mommy spoils, because at the end we are still woman and we also want to feel beautiful and confident this summer.
Supporting local has become one of our favourite things and so many friendships have come from it, so when I started looking for swimwear I just knew I wanted to support local too and thats when I discovered Sawoti Swim. The Sawoti Swim collection stems from a classic bikini design with the most beautiful colours and luxurious materials. The Sowati line consist of six of the most beautiful metallic colour that I just absolutely LOVE, theres a colour for every skin tone and mood.
Swimwear for me is not always about funky designs that looks great on a hanger, but rather about how it looks on your body, the combination of quality fabric and a well thought of design makes this bikini perfect. It fitted my body so well, keeping up the body parts that needed keeping up and hugging the rest of my body softly without making marks or squishing that unwanted skin. I could run around with Luna and play in the sand without having to fix my swim suit or feel self conscious about myself.
A Little bit about the company:
Sawoti Swim is brand new swimwear line launched in October 2017 by Megan Lee, A registered dietitian with a passion for health, wellness and just an all round foodie. She qualified from the University of Pretoria 5 years ago after which she did her community service year at a provincial hospital just outside Ballito in KwaZulu-Natal and absolutely fell in love with the coastal lifestyle. After three years of living in flip flops and soaking up the warm Indian ocean, she moved to Cape Town and soon after launched Sawoti Swim.
The name was inspired by her love for the ocean, the salty feeling of Summer days and her deep passion for South Africa and its beautiful cultural diversity. The word 'sawoti' means salt in isiZulu, which is of course the most widely spoken home language in South Africa. The name also represents her passion to support local enterprise by having the pieces locally made. Sawoti focus is on quality and releasing small limited-edition collections that will ensure exclusivity. Since very few women are the same size in their upper and lower body, they will always offer mixed sizing to allow customers to find their perfect fit. Each set arrives beautifully packaged in a reusable cotton muslin drawstring bag, which is made by an organisation in KwaZulu-Natal caring for over 140 orphaned and vulnerable children and the proceeds are used to sustain their operations.
Sawoti Swim collection is designed by Megan herself with the luxurious, high-quality, extra lite Lycra material being sourced all the way from Italy and locally made in Cape Town.
The Company is based in Seapoint, Cape Town and you can shop their collection at their online store www.sawotiswim.com and receive free shipping with any bikini set purchased. You can also find them at the Bakers Wife shop in the Mojo Market, Seapoint and follow them on Instagram @sawotiswim.
